Initiate Remote Assistance Session Request in Windows 8 and 7

Very easy to use, just follow the instructions and your system will be enabled for RA.

Windows 8

Verify you system is enabled to accept Remote Assistance

  1. Navigate to the Control Panel
  2. Click on System and Security
  3. In the System section, click on Allow Remote Access
  4. Ensure the ‘Allow Remote Assistance Connections to this Computer’ box is checked
  5. Click Ok

 

Initiate Remote Assistance Session

  1. Navigate to the Control Panel.
  2. In the System and Security section click Find and Fix Problems
  3. In the Troubleshoot Computer Problems window click Get Help from a Friend in the left side pane.
  4. In the next window click Invite Someone to Help You
  5. In the Windows Remote Assistance box select the Use Email to Send an Invitation option
  6. Address the email to my alias and click Send
  7. A window will appear that provides a Connection Password.  Please IM or email the connection password to me so that I can connect to your machine
  8. When someone attempt to connect please select Yes in the Windows Remote Assistance pop-up

Windows 7

Verify your system is enabled to accept Remote Assistance

  1. Navigate to the Control Panel
  2. Click on System
  3. Click on Remote Settings in the left side pane
  4. Ensure the ‘Allow Remote Assistance Connections to this Computer’ box is checked
  5. Click Ok

 

Initiate Remote Assistance Session

  1. Navigate to the Start>All Programs>Maintenance>Windows Remote Assistance
  2. In the next window click Invite Someone You Trust to Help You
  3. In the Windows Remote Assistance box select the Use Email to Send an Invitation option
  4. Address the email to my alias and click Send
  5. A window will appear that provides a Connection Password.  Please IM or email the connection password to me so that I can connect to your machine
  6. When someone attempt to connect please select Yes in the Windows Remote Assistance pop-up

And that’s about it…as I’ve mentioned, very easy to configure in Windows 8.
