Very easy to use, just follow the instructions and your system will be enabled for RA.
Windows 8
Verify you system is enabled to accept Remote Assistance
- Navigate to the Control Panel
- Click on System and Security
- In the System section, click on Allow Remote Access
- Ensure the ‘Allow Remote Assistance Connections to this Computer’ box is checked
- Click Ok
Initiate Remote Assistance Session
- Navigate to the Control Panel.
- In the System and Security section click Find and Fix Problems
- In the Troubleshoot Computer Problems window click Get Help from a Friend in the left side pane.
- In the next window click Invite Someone to Help You
- In the Windows Remote Assistance box select the Use Email to Send an Invitation option
- Address the email to my alias and click Send
- A window will appear that provides a Connection Password. Please IM or email the connection password to me so that I can connect to your machine
- When someone attempt to connect please select Yes in the Windows Remote Assistance pop-up

- Ensure the ‘Allow Remote Assistance Connections to this Computer’ box is checked
- Click Ok

- Navigate to the Start>All Programs>Maintenance>Windows Remote Assistance
- In the next window click Invite Someone You Trust to Help You
- In the Windows Remote Assistance box select the Use Email to Send an Invitation option
- Address the email to my alias and click Send
- A window will appear that provides a Connection Password. Please IM or email the connection password to me so that I can connect to your machine
- When someone attempt to connect please select Yes in the Windows Remote Assistance pop-up
And that’s about it…as I’ve mentioned, very easy to configure in Windows 8.
